As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with project teams across multiple active, large-scale sites, ensuring best-in-class safety standards are embedded into every stage of project delivery. You will play a key role in shaping and maintaining a proactive safety culture while ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and industry best practices. The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will provide expert guidance to operational teams across a range of live, major construction sites, helping ensure that health and safety standards are consistently maintained across all project activities.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Conducting regular site inspections and audits on large-scale projects to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing site-specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and acting as a lead on CDM requirements where necessary
- Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending effective corrective and preventative actions
- Delivering health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to site teams and contractors
- Ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation and internal company policies
- Advising project teams and management on best practice in health, safety, and environmental protection
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health and safety documentation and reporting
- Promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across operational sites
- Monitoring contractor health and safety performance across multiple major projects
About You
We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety professional with significant depth of experience who thrives in a fast-paced, large-scale construction environment and is confident working across multiple live, complex projects.
To Be Considered For This Role You Should Have:
- Extensive experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or Manager specifically within the large-scale construction or major infrastructure sectors
- A proven track record of working for major UK construction contractors on large-scale project schemes
- Significant depth of experience in dedicated Health & Safety roles, demonstrating a long-term commitment to the profession
- Verifiable experience working on UK-based projects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of national H&S requirements, regulatory standards, and site practices
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its application within civil engineering and infrastructure environments
- Demonstrable experience with CDM 2015 regulations
- Relevant health and safety qualifications such as a NEBOSH Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or NVQ Level 6
- Experience on high-profile, complex UK infrastructure projects (such as major power or civil engineering schemes) is highly valued
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and senior management
- Experience using H&S management systems and reporting tools
