As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with project teams across multiple active, large‑scale sites, ensuring best‑in‑class safety standards are embedded into every stage of project delivery. The Role

As Health & Safety Advisor, you will provide expert guidance to operational teams across a range of live, major construction sites, helping ensure that health and safety standards are consistently maintained across all project activities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting regular site inspections and audits on large‑scale projects to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing site‑specific risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
  • Ensuring full compliance with CDM 2015 regulations and acting as a lead on CDM requirements where necessary
  • Investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Delivering health and safety training, inductions, and toolbox talks to site teams and contractors
  • Ensuring compliance with UK health and safety legislation and internal company policies
  • Advising project teams and management on best practice in health, safety, and environmental protection
  • Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date health and safety documentation and reporting

About You

We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety professional with significant depth of experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, large‑scale construction environment and is confident working across multiple live, complex projects.

To Be Considered For This Role You Should Have:

  • Extensive experience as a Health & Safety Advisor or Manager specifically within the large‑scale construction or major infrastructure sectors
  • A proven track record of working for major UK construction contractors on large‑scale project schemes
  • Significant depth of experience in dedicated Health & Safety roles, demonstrating a long‑term commitment to the profession
  • Verifiable experience working on UK‑based projects, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of national H&S requirements, regulatory standards, and site practices
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and its application within civil engineering and infrastructure environments
  • Demonstrable experience with CDM 2015 regulations
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications such as a NEBOSH Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or NVQ Level 6
  • Experience on high‑profile, complex UK infrastructure projects (such as major power or civil engineering schemes) is highly valued
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and senior management
  • Experience using H&S management systems and reporting tools
