We are working with a well-established precision manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead machining and assembly operations within a fast-paced engineering environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving operational performance, improving efficiencies, and ensuring high standards across production, quality, and health & safety.
Key Responsibilities for a Production Manager:
- Lead day-to-day machining and production operations across CNC, assembly, and workshop functions
- Manage production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet delivery targets
- Monitor KPIs including productivity, quality, downtime, and on-time delivery
- Support and develop production teams, team leaders, and shop floor staff
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Work closely with engineering, quality, procurement, and stores teams to support production flow
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and manufacturing standards
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and optimise costs
- Support workflow improvements, capacity planning, and operational performance
- Maintain strong communication across internal teams and stakeholders
Requirements for a Production Manager:
- Previous experience within a machining, engineering, or precision manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership experience within production or workshop operations
- Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes
- Experience managing KPIs, production scheduling, and operational performance
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience driving operational efficiencies
- Health & Safety awareness within a manufacturing/workshop environment
