An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join a highly innovative engineering business that designs and manufactures specialist automated machinery for customers across the globe. This is a varied, hands-on role within a growing organisation, offering the chance to work on complex engineering projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.
The Role
- As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of bespoke machinery projects, including:
- Designing special-purpose machinery and automation systems using SolidWorks
- Managing bills of materials (BOMs), sourcing components and progressing orders
- Coordinating machine builds, testing, commissioning and servicing activities
- Supporting customers with technical problem-solving, both remotely and on-site
- Liaising with suppliers and customers across the UK and internationally
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and business processes
- Supporting the development of new equipment, products and engineering solutions
About You
- To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Minimum 2 years' experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD
- At least 3 years' experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Experience working with special-purpose machinery, automation or bespoke equipment
- Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
- Good commercial awareness and customer-facing communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Full UK driving licence (preferred)
- Ability and willingness to undertake occasional international travel
- Experience or knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies would be advantageous.
