We are currently partnered with a client who is looking for a technically versatile systems engineer who can bridge the gap between electronics hardware and software systems. This is not a pure electronics design role, but a systems-level position focused on integrating components into smart, connected products.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify and select electronic components (e.g. printers, touchscreens, motherboards)
- Define how hardware components connect and communicate
- Work closely with software developers to ensure seamless integration
- Develop system specifications for connected devices
- Produce and interpret:
- Wiring diagrams
- Schematics
- Vending machines
- Kiosks
- Ticketing systems
- Smart lockers / POS displays
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals
- Experience working with hardware components and system integration
- Knowledge of how software interacts with hardware (protocols, interfaces, APIs)
- Ability to think at a systems level (not just component-level)
- Comfortable working hands-on with physical devices
Desirable Experience
- Background in: Vending / kiosk / ticketing systems
- Retail POS or touchscreen devices
- Exposure to HMI systems
- Basic CAD familiarity (not essential)
