We're recruiting a Quality & Test Engineer to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business producing low-volume, high-specification products for demanding industries where quality, reliability and precision are critical.

This is a varied role that combines practical testing and inspection with quality engineering activities, offering an excellent opportunity to develop your career under the guidance of an experienced Senior Quality Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

This is not a desk-based quality role. You'll spend a significant amount of your time working closely with manufacturing and engineering teams, ensuring products meet the required specifications before reaching customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Incoming inspection of components and materials
  • Verifying products against engineering drawings and specifications
  • Conducting product testing, pressure testing and verification activities
  • Investigating non-conformances and quality issues
  • Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Maintaining quality records and documentation
  • Assisting with audits and quality system activities
  • Working closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

This role offers exposure to both the practical and technical sides of quality engineering, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their experience and progress their career.

Who We're Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

  • 1-3 years' experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Experience carrying out inspection, testing or product verification activities on Mechanical or electromechanical products
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues across production and engineering teams

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing
  • HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
