We are recruiting for a hands-on Prototype Mechanical Fitter to support the development and build of specialist machinery. This role would suit a practical engineer who enjoys taking ideas and turning them into working prototypes. You will be involved in machining, fabrication, assembly and mechanical problem-solving, working closely with the wider engineering team to develop and improve new equipment.
Key responsibilities:
- Building and developing prototype machinery and mechanical assemblies
- Machining and fabricating components
- Assembling, modifying and testing mechanical parts
- Producing practical solutions to design and build challenges
- Supporting mechanical maintenance and fault-finding when required
- Working with hygienic stainless-steel fabrications and welded assemblies
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of prototype designs
What we’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on mechanical engineering experience
- Machining, fabrication and mechanical assembly skills
- Experience working within a machinery or equipment-building environment
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings
