We are currently recruiting an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a specialist engineering team delivering high-quality architectural fit-out projects across London and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Fitter with experience in precision fitting, sheet metal work, fabrication, or bespoke installation projects to work on technically challenging environments.

The successful Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for the installation and fitting of architectural components including staircases, lift interiors, escalators, balconies, and associated metalwork, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing architectural metalwork, bespoke interiors, and specialist engineered components.
  • Fitting stainless steel panels, sheet metal components, trims, and specialist finishes.
  • Installing components including staircases, lift interiors, escalators, balconies, handrails, and associated fixtures.
  • Measuring, cutting, drilling, and adjusting materials to ensure accurate installation.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation plans.
  • Using a range of hand tools and power tools to complete fitting and installation work.
  • Ensuring all installations meet quality standards, client specifications, and project requirements.
  • Working safely in line with site health and safety regulations.
  • Liaising with site managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter or within a similar fitting and installation role.
  • Experience working on architectural fit-outs, metalwork installations, or bespoke engineering projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical fitting, fabrication, and precision installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately to tight tolerances.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team.
  • Valid CSCS Card and Safety Harness Certification.

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience within architectural, construction, engineering, or specialist installation environments.
  • Experience working with stainless steel and bespoke metal finishes.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • EOR202N certification.
  • Carpentry or joinery skills.
