Ree VR Talent are looking for a Workshop Technician to join our clients growing engineering and manufacturing team.

This is a great opportunity for a Workshop Technician with a background in CNC machining or manual machining who wants to develop their skills and take on more responsibility within a fast paced machine shop.

As the Workshop Technician will be involved in manufacturing high-precision components, working across both CNC and bespoke machinery.

The role offers plenty of variety, from setting and operating machinery through to producing one-off and small-batch components, carrying out inspections and helping improve manufacturing processes.

  • What You'll Be Doing as the Workshop Technician
  • Setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce precision components.
  • Using conventional lathes, milling machines and workshop equipment when required.
  • Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Selecting the correct tooling, fixtures and machining methods for each job.
  • Manufacturing one-off, prototype and small-batch components.
  • Measuring and inspecting components throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet required tolerances.
  • Carrying out basic machine maintenance and daily equipment checks.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is practical, hands-on and enjoys working in a precision engineering environment.

Ideally, you will have

  • Previous experience in a machine shop, CNC or manual machining environment.
  • CNC turning experience, ideally including setting machinery.
  • Experience using conventional lathes and/or milling machines.
  • The ability to confidently read engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with precision components and tight tolerances.
  • Good knowledge of tooling, machining methods and inspection equipment.
  • A strong eye for detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving processes.
  • The ambition to learn, develop and take on additional responsibility.
