ReeVR are seeking a skilled, hands-on Mechanical Fitter to join our clients engineering team. The Mechanical Fitter role involves the build, setup, modification, testing and commissioning of mechanical subassemblies and equipment. The successful Mechanical Fitter will also provide on-site support for installation, servicing, breakdowns and repairs across the manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust and assemble mechanical subassemblies to precise engineering specifications.
  • Test, commission and ensure optimal operation of mechanical equipment.
  • Provide on-site support for the installation, servicing and repair of production machinery as required.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during assembly, maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical documentation accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and efficient working environment.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, fabrication and assembly.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Exposure to FMCG manufacturing environments is preferred but not essential.
  • Competent in fault finding, diagnostics, and problem-solving on mechanical systems.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Previous experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within a similar environment is highly desirable.

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Machine building experience.
