Are you an experienced Stress Engineer with a strong background in composite structures? This is an exciting opportunity for a Stress Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation delivering complex, high-performance solutions into highly regulated industries such as aerospace, defence, Formula 1 and motorsport.

This role would suit a proactive Stress Engineer who enjoys working across both analysis and wider engineering activities within a collaborative team environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Mechanical Design Team Leader, this Stress Engineer position will see you delivering high-quality analysis and technical support across a range of innovative projects.

  • Performing stress analysis of composite components using FEA tools such as Hyperworks, NASTRAN / PATRAN, ANSYS or similar
  • Applying industry-recognised stress methodologies for both metallic and composite structures
  • Managing and overseeing external analysis sub-contractors where required
  • Conducting value analysis to optimise product performance and development cost
  • Providing technical input on new projects, evaluating requirements and engineering implications
  • Maintaining accurate project records and documentation
  • Driving continuous improvement in design and analysis processes
About You

To be successful in this Stress Engineer role, you will have proven experience in stress analysis of composite structures within a highly regulated engineering environment (e.g. aerospace, defence, motorsport, F1 or similar).

  • Experience with dynamic and/or non-linear analysis
  • Knowledge of F&DT (Fatigue & Damage Tolerance) for metallic and composite structures
  • Knowledge of composite manufacturing techniques, including fibre reinforced plastics and thermoplastics
