We are working with a well-established precision manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to lead machining and assembly operations within a fast-paced engineering environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving operational performance, improving efficiencies, and ensuring high standards across production, quality, and health & safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day machining and production operations across CNC, assembly, and workshop functions
  • Manage production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet delivery targets
  • Monitor KPIs including productivity, quality, downtime, and on-time delivery
  • Support and develop production teams, team leaders, and shop floor staff
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, procurement, and stores teams to support production flow
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures and manufacturing standards
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and optimise costs
  • Support workflow improvements, capacity planning, and operational performance
  • Maintain strong communication across internal teams and stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within a machining, engineering, or precision manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership experience within production or workshop operations
  • Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes
  • Experience managing KPIs, production scheduling, and operational performance
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience driving operational efficiencies
