CONTRACT Electronic Design Engineer - Camera/Vision Systems (Remote contract Outside IR35 - £50-55)

I am looking for a hands-on hardware design engineer to build camera systems from the ground up for advanced sensing applications for unmanned vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design CMOS & LWIR (thermal) camera systems
  • Develop multi-layer PCBs (6 layers, controlled impedance) (core skill)
  • Work across digital, mixed-signal & high-speed design (MIPI, LVDS)
  • Interface sensors with FPGAs and frame buffer memory
  • Design Ethernet/USB interfaces
  • Support bring-up, debugging & validation

Requirements

  • Strong PCB design & high-speed experience
  • Proven camera/imaging background (CMOS LWIR essential)
  • Experience with FPGA (VHDL/Verilog) interfacing & Ethernet design

Desirable

  • CMOS experience with Teledyne/Octopus
