Are you an experienced Electronics Production Manager looking for the opportunity to lead a high-performing production and test function within a highly specialised engineering and manufacturing environment? We are working with an advanced engineering organisation seeking a hands-on Electronics Production Manager to oversee the production, testing and delivery of complex electronic and electromechanical systems, ensuring products consistently meet stringent quality, safety and performance standards before customer delivery. The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Electronics Production Manager will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the electronics production and test department, overseeing production technicians, test engineers and team leaders within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a leadership role requiring a strong balance of people management, manufacturing oversight, technical understanding and continuous improvement capability.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the electronics production and test department
  • Leading, mentoring and developing production, assembly and test teams
  • Coordinating manufacturing and electronic test activities in line with production schedules and customer delivery targets
  • Ensuring products are assembled, tested and validated to required quality and performance standards
  • Driving improvements across production efficiency, workflow and electronic test processes
  • Supporting fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and corrective action activities at PCB and system level
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, quality and supply chain teams to resolve production and test issues
  • Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and transition into manufacture
  • Developing and maintaining production documentation, work instructions and test procedures
  • Monitoring KPIs, production performance and departmental output
  • Ensuring compliance with company quality, safety and engineering procedures
  • Managing production and test equipment maintenance and calibration activities
  • Driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the department
  • Supporting workforce planning, training and team development activities

What We’re Looking For

We are interested in experienced production leaders with a strong electronics manufacturing background and the ability to lead teams within technically advanced engineering environments. Suitable candidates are likely to have:

  • Strong background within electronics manufacturing, production and test environments
  • Previous experience within a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership role
  • Good understanding of electronics assembly, PCB testing and fault diagnosis
  • Experience working with analogue, digital and power electronic systems
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality standards and manufacturing workflows
  • Experience developing or improving production and test procedures
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership capability
  • Experience managing technical teams within engineering or manufacturing environments
  • A proactive and continuous improvement-focused mindset

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with high-voltage or switch mode power supply systems
  • Experience within regulated or safety-critical engineering industries
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or operational improvement methodologies
  • Understanding of automated production or electronic test equipment

Qualifications

HND, HNC or Degree qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
