Gulmay Ltd is a global leader in high-voltage power supply systems, seeking a driven and technically strong Engineering Manager to lead their UK engineering team.
The Role:
As Engineering Manager, you will be pivotal in driving R&D and product development, working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations to ensure engineering output aligns with commercial goals. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team covering electronics, embedded firmware, and mechanical design, delivering innovative, high-quality products for the high-voltage industry.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse UK engineering team across R&D and sustaining functions
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and to-scope delivery
- Review and approve product designs, ensuring regulatory and quality compliance
- Collaborate across teams to support new product introductions and continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and career development to team members
- Work with supply chain and external partners to support manufacturing
Key Experience & Skills of the Engineering Manager:
- Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Degree-qualified in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycle – concept to production
- Experience in high-voltage design or X-ray systems is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware, innovative, and able to balance multiple priorities
