We’re looking for a Lead Robotics Control Engineer to develop advanced whole-body control for a next-generation robotic platform.

You’ll work across optimisation, dynamics and real-time control, taking algorithms from formulation through to deployment on physical robotic hardware.

  • What you’ll do
  • Develop hierarchical and weighted QP-based whole-body controllers.
  • Own task prioritisation, constraints, feasibility and numerical robustness.
  • Develop inverse dynamics, task-space/operational-space, redundancy, impedance and force control.
  • Advance dynamic modelling, system identification and payload estimation.
  • Develop predictive control, including MPC.
  • Deploy and debug real-time controllers on high-Do F robotic hardware.
  • Work with hardware and safety teams and mentor control engineers.
  • Required Experience
  • Deep hands-on experience in whole-body and optimisation-based robot control.
  • Strong QP/NLP solver and real-time optimisation experience.
  • Strong rigid-body kinematics and dynamics, inverse dynamics and IK.
  • Proven deployment on real, high-Do F robotic hardware.
  • Expert modern C++ for real-time systems; Python for analysis and prototyping.
  • Experience taking control systems from research to reliable hardware deployment.
  • Strong technical leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Preferred Experience
  • MPC deployed on physical robots.
  • Mobile manipulation, dual-arm or legged robotics.
  • Pinocchio, Eigen, QP/NLP solvers, ROS2 and real-time Linux.
  • System identification, payload estimation or safety-relevant control.
  • What’s on offer
  • Significant technical ownership and influence.
  • Highly collaborative robotics engineering environment.
  • Comprehensive benefits and strong career development opportunities.
  • Competitive relocation support for candidates moving to London.
