Are you a mechanical engineer who believes great product design is about more than just function? Do you obsess over details that make a product feel intuitive, robust, and visually striking? We’re looking for a Senior Product Design Engineer to lead the design of precision-engineered products where form, function and user experience all come together seamlessly.
Join a collaborative engineering team that’s passionate about designing products that not only work beautifully — but look the part too.
What You’ll Be Doing as a Senior Product Design Engineer:
- Own the end-to-end design process of mechanical products — from concept generation and prototyping through to production release.
- Develop high-quality, manufacturable CAD models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks (or similar).
- Design mechanical components and assemblies that are both elegant and performance-driven.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, balancing form, function, and cost.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in engineering, prototyping, and production to bring designs to life.
- Champion design intent across all phases — ensuring that visual appeal doesn’t come at the expense of performance or reliability.
- Take a lead in DFM, FEA, testing, and design reviews, contributing both creative and technical leadership.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and design excellence.
What You’ll Bring:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or similar.
- Extensive experience in product-focused mechanical design — ideally in a high-quality, small-batch or bespoke manufacturing environment.
- Strong 3D CAD skills — ideally SolidWorks, but others considered (e.g. Creo, Inventor).
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (injection moulding, CNC machining, metal fabrication, 3D printing).
- Confident in tolerancing, GD&T, material selection, and design for assembly/manufacture.
- A keen eye for aesthetics, usability, and product feel — with examples of designs that blend engineering with intuitive user experience.
- A hands-on mindset — able to build, test, and refine your own ideas quickly and practically.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- You’ll get to shape products from the ground up, not just tweak existing designs.
- Real design freedom and ownership — backed by a team that values both technical rigour and creative vision.
- A collaborative environment that encourages curiosity, challenge, and learning.
- Work on products that combine engineering integrity with standout design.
If you’re passionate about engineering design that looks right, feels right, and performs flawlessly — we want to hear from you. Apply today or get in touch for a confidential chat.
