A growing engineering and technology business based in High Wycombe is seeking a talented Control Systems Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, research-driven environment developing and supporting bespoke high-tech equipment used in advanced material applications. The role offers a broad range of responsibilities, from maintaining and developing control systems software to supporting production and contributing to R&D initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update existing PC-based software
- Maintain and support PLC software (Mitsubishi preferred)
- Assist in the creation of system schematics and interlock designs
- Ensure safety and reliability of system controls
- Create and manage documentation for all software changes
- Provide fault-finding and technical troubleshooting support
- Collaborate with the sales team on technical matters
- Work alongside test and installation teams to ensure FAT documentation is up to date
- Contribute to R&D and new product development activities
Requirements
- Degree in engineering or science (or equivalent industry experience)
- Experience with industrial control software and electronics
- Familiarity with PC software development (VB.net preferred)
- PLC programming experience (ideally Mitsubishi)
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with a proactive and positive approach
- Experience working with scientific or technical instrumentation
