What you'll be doing
This is a strategic, hands-on procurement role with full ownership of the supply base. You'll be responsible for:
- Developing sourcing strategies for electronic components, semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, cables and other technical manufacturing parts.
- Managing supplier relationships across UK and global markets.
- Negotiating commercial agreements, pricing, lead times and supplier performance.
- Identifying supply chain risks and implementing mitigation plans.
- Working closely with Engineering and R&D to source components for new product introduction (NPI).
- Analysing market trends and component availability to ensure continuity of supply.
- Driving cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery.
- Managing BOM-driven procurement within an ERP/MRP environment.
- Ensuring suppliers meet quality standards and ISO requirements.
What we're looking for
We're keen to speak with procurement professionals who have experience within an electronics or electronic manufacturing environment, particularly those who have sourced technical components. You'll ideally have:
- Experience with procurement or strategic sourcing experience within manufacturing.
- Proven experience sourcing electronic components, such as semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, cable assemblies, sensors, power supplies, electromechanical components or related technologies.
- Experience working with engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Strong supplier negotiation skills with a proven track record of delivering cost savings.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and strong Excel skills.
- A proactive, analytical and commercially focused approach.
- Confidence managing global suppliers and navigating component availability challenges.
