Are you an experienced Project Engineer looking for the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale engineering projects within highly regulated industries? We are supporting a globally recognised engineering organisation that designs and delivers bespoke industrial treatment systems for customers across the energy, utilities, marine and industrial sectors. With projects spanning the globe and involvement across the entire project lifecycle, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a busy project delivery team and play a key role in the successful execution of major engineering programmes.

This position will see you working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers and clients, taking ownership of mechanical engineering activities from specification review through to manufacture and project delivery.

As a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting client specifications and translating requirements into robust engineering solutions.
  • Producing Mechanical RFQs and supporting procurement activities for project-specific equipment.
  • Reviewing supplier documentation and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Producing and updating project documentation for client submissions.
  • Producing and reviewing engineering documentation including schedules, datasheets and technical reports.
  • Checking and approving mechanical drawings and engineering documents.
  • Working closely with project managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Supporting projects through detailed design, manufacture, commissioning and aftermarket support activities.

What We're Looking For in a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within a Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Previous experience working within oil and gas, water treatment, process engineering or related industries would be highly advantageous.
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering preferred, although equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Experience specifying and selecting mechanical equipment.
  • Strong understanding of engineering documentation, technical reviews and supplier management.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area installations such as ATEX and IECEx would be advantageous, although not essential.
  • Comfortable working within multidisciplinary project teams and liaising directly with suppliers and clients.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet project deadlines.
