The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a Post Graduate Sales Engineer to join a growing commercial team within a technically driven organisation. The role is ideal for someone with a technical or engineering degree who has gained 1–2 years of industry experience and is now looking to transition into a customer-facing, consultative sales role. You’ll work closely with a highly experienced Sales Manager known for outstanding training, mentoring and career progression, making this role particularly well suited to ambitious early-career professionals. The position offers a balanced mix of technical engagement, commercial exposure and relationship building, with clear development opportunities into senior sales or commercial roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the development and management of customer relationships across key markets
- Assisting with lead generation and new business opportunities
- Delivering consultative, value-based technical sales support
- Preparing quotations, proposals and technical documentation
- Attending client meetings, trade shows and industry events
- Collaborating closely with engineering and technical teams to scope solutions
- Maintaining CRM data and managing a healthy sales pipeline
- Supporting commercial activities across a wider group portfolio as required
About You
Essential:
- Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline
- 1–2 years’ experience in industry (engineering, technical, applications or customer-facing roles)
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-motivated, organised and eager to learn
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Fluent in English
Desirable:
- Exposure to aerospace, defence, photonics or measurement technologies
- Any prior sales, commercial or customer-facing experience
- Additional languages (French or German advantageous)
- Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
