Our client is a growing UK engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke specialist vehicles and equipment for industrial, environmental and infrastructure applications.

This is a hands-on engineering environment where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects and see your designs progress from initial concept through to manufacture and final delivery.

They are now looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their growing engineering team.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs across a range of bespoke engineering projects.

You'll work closely with the wider engineering and manufacturing teams, taking projects from initial concept through detailed design and into production.

  • Producing detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Developing bespoke mechanical components, assemblies and systems.
  • Supporting projects from concept and design through to manufacture.
  • Working closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and fit for purpose.
  • Making design improvements and resolving technical issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Working with suppliers and external stakeholders where required.
  • Supporting the development of new products and continuous improvement of existing designs.
  • Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering standards and customer requirements.

About You

We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong practical engineering mindset and experience working within a manufacturing or product development environment.

You'll ideally have experience with 3D CAD and be comfortable working collaboratively with engineers and manufacturing teams.
