ReeVR Talent are looking for a Test Technician to join our client’s manufacturing facility in Reading. Working alongside the Production Engineering team, you will be responsible for the assembly, testing and calibration of complex electro-mechanical products. This Test Technician position is a hands-on role where you will build products to defined standards before carrying out testing and calibration to ensure they meet the required quality and performance criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble complex electro-mechanical products in line with SOPs and specifications.
- Carry out testing, calibration and configuration of production equipment and devices.
- Perform in-process and final testing against defined acceptance criteria.
- Accurately record test and calibration results against product serial numbers.
- Maintain calibration records and support the control of production test equipment.
- Install and verify software and firmware during assembly and testing.
- Investigate faults and support repair and rework of failed or returned products.
- Identify and report non-conforming products through the relevant quality processes.
- Write, update and improve SOPs, work instructions and test procedures.
- Support goods-in inspection and ensure components meet the required acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Logistics teams to resolve issues.
We are looking for a Test Technician with:
- Hands-on experience in assembly and testing of electro-mechanical products.
- Experience with test, calibration and measurement equipment.
- Good fault-finding and debugging skills across mechanical and electronic assemblies.
- The ability to follow and improve test procedures, SOPs and acceptance criteria.
- Experience installing and verifying software or firmware.
- Comfortable using basic command-line tools and computer-based test systems.
- An understanding of calibration, traceability and quality requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A practical, methodical approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
