Production Manager
Are you an experienced Production Manager with a hands-on approach and a passion for driving performance in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment?
We are a small but ambitious business specialising in the design and manufacture of complex electro-mechanical products, including motor assemblies, for a wide range of sectors. As a turnkey provider, we manage everything in-housefrom concept through to deliveryand were looking for a Production Manager to play a key role in leading and shaping our manufacturing operations.
About the Role:
This is a broad and varied role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for managing a small team of skilled electro-mechanical assembly technicians while overseeing all aspects of the production function, including:

Goods in and materials handling

Kitting and stores management
-
Quality control and inspection
-
Production planning and scheduling
-
Final product dispatch and customer delivery
Youll be expected to wear multiple hats and take a proactive, solution-focused approach to keeping things moving and continuously improving how we work.
Key Responsibilities of The Production Manager:

Lead and manage a small team of assembly technicians working on electro-mechanical assemblies.

Own the end-to-end production process from material intake to final dispatch.

Work closely with design and engineering to ensure a smooth handover from prototype/NPI to production.

Improve processes, productivity, and quality through lean practices and hands-on leadership.

Maintain high levels of housekeeping, safety, and compliance on the shop floor.

Support broader business needs where requiredthis is a team that rolls up its sleeves!
What Were Looking For in The Production Manager:

Proven experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly management role in a technical or electro-mechanical environment.

Strong people management skills and the ability to get the best out of a small, close-knit team.

Comfortable in a small business setting, with a flexible attitude and a willingness to get hands-on.

Familiarity with lean tools and continuous improvement.

HNC/HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering or manufacturing discipline is desirable.
