Are you an experienced engineer looking for a role where you can take genuine technical ownership from start to finish? I’m currently recruiting for a Technical Lead Project Engineer opportunity with a specialist engineering business working on complex, highly regulated products. This is a key technical position where you’ll oversee the engineering side of projects from early requirements and design through to testing, validation and final delivery.
The Role
You’ll be the technical lead on dedicated projects, working alongside experienced Project Managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams. You’ll help shape the technical direction, manage risks and requirements, review engineering outputs and ensure everything is delivered to the required standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the technical lifecycle from start to finish
- Lead engineering projects and technical work packages
- Set technical direction from the early stages
- Manage requirements, compliance and technical risks
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Lead design reviews including PDR, DDR & CDR
- Review technical deliverables and maintain quality
- Support prototyping, testing and validation
- Work with customers and suppliers
- Deliver against cost, quality and deadlines
What We're Looking For
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- 3 years' experience within defence or aerospace
- Technical requirements and compliance experience
- Mechanical and electrical design knowledge
- Experience leading technical projects or work packages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
