Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer looking to take the next step into a technical leadership role? We’re working with a specialist engineering organisation operating within the defence and advanced engineering sector, supporting the development of highly technical products and systems. They’re looking for an Electrical Lead Engineer to join their engineering team and provide technical leadership across a team of engineers and technicians.
The Opportunity
You’ll lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical direction, mentoring and support while remaining involved in the design and development of new products. You’ll work closely with other engineering disciplines, project teams, customers and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys combining technical delivery, problem solving and people leadership.
Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5 years' engineering experience
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and processes
- Experience mentoring or guiding engineers
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working with customers and suppliers
- Strong 3D modelling and simulation skills
- Knowledge of relevant engineering standards
- Good time-management skills
- Flexible approach and willingness to learn new engineering techniques
Desirable
- Autodesk Inventor
- AutoCAD Electrical
- Altium
- Previous engineering leadership experience
- Environmental, shock and vibration testing
- Systems engineering and the engineering V-model
- Defence and/or aerospace experience
- ISO9001 / AS9100
