A successful and growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Leicester is seeking an experienced Accounts & Admin Assistant to join its friendly finance team.

This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the Finance Director while providing cover across both the Sales and Purchase Ledger functions.

You'll also play an important part in the day-to-day administration of the business, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

The Role Working closely with the Finance Director and wider team, your responsibilities will include:

Supporting the Finance Director with financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries and general finance administration.

Providing cover for Sales Ledger, including raising invoices, allocating payments, maintaining customer accounts and assisting with credit control.

Providing cover for Purchase Ledger, including ordering materials from Excel Bills of Materials, processing supplier invoices, reconciling statements and preparing payment runs.

Producing and maintaining reports using Excel and the company's accounting software.

Providing general administrative support including filing, correspondence and document management.

Assisting with sales administration, including processing sales orders, answering telephone and email enquiries, and arranging travel bookings.

Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations.

Providing occasional cover within the stores department when required.

About You You'll have

A minimum of 5 years' experience within an accounts or finance administration role.

Strong Excel skills, including confidence working with large spreadsheets (pivot tables and lookups would be advantageous).

Experience using accounting software.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.

A flexible, proactive approach and willingness to support different areas of the business.
