This role supports manufacturing operations by shaping and improving production processes for both existing and new products. Working closely with operations, supply chain, and engineering, the position plays a key role in driving process efficiency, supporting product introductions, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Improve manufacturing performance by working with production teams and engineering to optimise process flow and reduce waste.
  • Define and maintain manufacturing standards, including work instructions, routings, and visual performance controls.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement and lean initiatives to reduce lead time, rework, and work in progress.
  • Establish and track standard cycle times, identifying opportunities to reduce labour content and improve productivity.
  • Lead improvement projects and capital investment activity supporting new processes and product introductions.
  • Support factory layout changes and process reconfiguration in collaboration with facilities and maintenance.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering input during new product introduction to ensure cost-effective, scalable process design.
  • Support production teams with issue resolution to maintain delivery performance.
  • Develop and implement process risk assessments and mitigation actions.
  • Coach production leaders in improved assembly and test methods.
Experience & Capability for the Manufacturing Engineer:
  • Experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a regulated or complex production environment.
  • Proven involvement in new product or process introduction.
  • Track record of delivering lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong problem-solving capability in electro-mechanical manufacturing.
  • Experience managing improvement projects and capital investment.
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, or a closely related industry.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing at multiple levels.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to lead small group discussions.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing planning or ERP systems.
  • Understanding of process control and quality improvement techniques.
