About the Learning & Development Coordinator opportunity
We are looking for an organised and proactive Learning & Development Coordinator to join a leading industrial manufacturing business in Dunstable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience across training, learning and development, HR or workforce development who enjoys coordinating training programmes, maintaining accurate records and supporting employees throughout their development. Working closely with HR, Operations, Quality and Engineering, you will play a key role in ensuring employees have the skills, qualifications and competencies required to meet operational, quality, customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities as a Learning & Development Coordinator
- Coordinate and administer internal and external training activities across the business.
- Identify training needs by working closely with managers and functional leaders.
- Support the development and implementation of annual training and development plans.
- Coordinate onboarding and induction programmes for new employees.
- Ensure mandatory training, health & safety, quality and compliance requirements are completed.
- Maintain and regularly update departmental skills matrices and competency records.
- Track employee qualifications, certifications and training requirements.
- Monitor training compliance and certification expiry dates.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready training records and employee development histories.
- Produce reports and dashboards highlighting workforce capability and training compliance.
- Support cross-training initiatives to improve workforce flexibility and resilience.
- Coordinate apprenticeship, graduate and professional development programmes where applicable.
- Liaise with external training providers, colleges and professional bodies.
- Support internal, customer and regulatory audits by providing relevant training evidence.
- Work alongside Quality and Engineering teams to support training and competency requirements.
- Monitor training effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Act as the key point of contact for training-related queries across the business.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience within Training, Learning & Development, HR or Workforce Development.
- Experience maintaining training records and competency management systems.
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR/training databases.
