An established and growing engineering and controls business is seeking an experienced Project Manager to play a critical role in the successful delivery of complex projects. This position combines team leadership, client-facing responsibility, and commercial awareness, with genuine scope to influence delivery and business growth.
This role will suit a Project Manager who enjoys leading people, building strong client relationships, and taking ownership across the full project lifecycle.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. While strong project controls are essential, the role places particular emphasis on people management, client engagement, and business development support.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Management
- Provide clear leadership and direction to multi-disciplinary project teams
- Allocate resources effectively based on skills, workload, and project needs

- Budget & Commercial Management
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control
- Track expenditure and implement efficiencies where possible
- Produce financial reports outlining budget vs actuals
- Quality, Risk & Reporting
- Ensure projects meet agreed quality standards
- Track KPIs and prepare regular status reports
- Escalate risks and issues appropriately
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice
- Work in accordance with Health & Safety best practice
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 27001 standards
About You
- Proven experience as a Project Manager within an engineering, automation, controls or technical environment
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and forecasts
- Confident working across delivery, PMO, and client-facing responsibilities
- Proactive, organised, and solutions-focused
