MUST HAVE SMOKE CONTROL / SMOKE VENTILATION EXPERIENCE
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in smoke control and smoke ventilation systems. This is a hands-on role covering installation, testing and commissioning of smoke control systems across a variety of building projects throughout London and Greater London.
The Role
- Install and commission smoke control systems
- Commission AOVs, smoke dampers and ventilation systems
- Test, balance and troubleshoot systems
- Complete electrical wiring and power distribution
- Integrate systems with BMS and fire alarm systems
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Identify and resolve technical faults
- Ensure systems meet design and regulatory requirements
- Complete commissioning, service and progress reports
- Record airflow and system test results
- Work alongside Project Managers, Engineers, contractors and consultants
- Plan and prioritise work to meet project deadlines
- Supervise and support an Engineer or Apprentice when required
About You
The successful Commissioning Engineer will have:
- Essential: Smoke control / smoke ventilation experience
- Experience commissioning AOVs, smoke dampers and ventilation systems
- Strong electrical installation and commissioning experience
- Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
- Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of relevant fire safety and building regulations
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across London & Greater London
