We are seeking a detail-oriented Welding Process Technician to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a Welding Process Technician to support welding and brazing approvals, material investigations, process qualification activities and testing requirements within a busy technical environment. The successful Welding Process Technician will play a key role in maintaining operator approvals, inspecting production test pieces, supporting technical investigations, and ensuring compliance with relevant specifications, procedures, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities for the Selected Welding Process Technician:

  • Maintain welder and brazing operator approvals, ensuring records remain accurate, compliant, and up to date.
  • Inspect production test pieces to ensure compliance with welding specifications and quality requirements.
  • Support the qualification and substantiation of weld and braze test pieces.
  • Assist with welding and material investigations, including sectioning and examination of test pieces and failed components.
  • Perform testing and validation activities on welding equipment, including argon testing and related process checks.
  • Carry out chemical analysis of cleaning tank solutions and other process-related testing activities.
  • Create, review, and approve welding and brazing data cards and associated documentation.
  • Review welding specifications, engineering drawings, manufacturing routings, and technical documentation.
  • Support engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams with welding process-related activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures.

Key Requirements for the Selected Welding Process Technician:

  • Previous experience working as a Welding Process Technician, Welding Technician, Manufacturing Technician, or within an engineering or manufacturing environment supporting welding and brazing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer literacy and administrative capabilities.
  • Methodical approach to problem-solving and technical investigations.

Desirable Skills for the Selected Welding Process Technician:
