An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing design and manufacturing company as a SolidWorks CAD Technician. This role offers hands-on involvement in creating stunning, fully custom staircases from concept through to final production drawings. You will use bespoke design software alongside CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp to generate accurate technical drawings and 3D models ready for production. You will also collaborate with clients, sales, and production teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop design concepts and visuals to support the sales process
- Produce general assembly drawings for client sign-off
- Prepare detailed production drawings for manufacturing
- Generate accurate technical CAD drawings and 3D models
- Assist with CNC programming of drawings
- Work closely with clients, sales, and production teams to ensure seamless project delivery
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in joinery, architecture, or a related manufacturing industry
- Confident in presenting and explaining design ideas to clients
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated with a keen eye for detail
- Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SketchUp (Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus)
- Strong IT and numerical skills
- Able to read and interpret architectural drawings
