Are you an experienced Warehouse Manager who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and making sure a busy operation actually runs properly?

I’m recruiting for an established business looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to take ownership of its day-to-day warehouse operation.

This isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day.

You’ll be visible on the warehouse floor, managing and supporting the team, keeping stock and distribution moving, dealing with issues as they arise and making sure processes, safety and service standards are where they need to be.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the warehouse operation
  • Leading, supervising and supporting the warehouse team
  • Overseeing goods in, goods out, picking, packing and dispatch
  • Managing stock control and inventory accuracy
  • Coordinating transport, deliveries and distribution
  • Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed consistently
  • Managing workloads, priorities and workflow across the warehouse
  • Monitoring team performance and addressing issues when required
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
  • Supporting administration and payroll-related activity
  • Working with internal teams and customers to resolve operational issues
  • Providing operational support across multiple sites when required
  • Getting stuck in when needed – this is very much a hands-on management position

What I’m looking for

You’ll already have experience managing a warehouse, logistics or distribution operation and be comfortable taking ownership rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.

You’ll need

  • Previous Warehouse Management or strong Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader experience
  • Experience within logistics, distribution and stock management
  • Strong people-management and team-leadership skills
  • Good knowledge of goods in/out, picking, packing and dispatch
  • A solid understanding of warehouse Health & Safety
  • Experience managing stock and inventory
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills
  • The confidence to make decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • A continuous-improvement mindset – if something could work better, you’ll be expected to spot it
  • Good Microsoft Office skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience operating Bendi, Flexi and/or P1 Pivot Steer forklifts would be highly advantageous.

Most importantly, I’m looking for someone who is organised, reliable, commercially aware and happy to lead from the front.

If you’re the type of Warehouse Manager who knows what’s happening on the floor, knows their team and isn’t afraid to roll their sleeves up when things get busy, I’d like to hear from you.
