A Special Educational Needs School in South East London is looking for a fantastic SEN teacher to join their team from the start of the new year for a maternity cover starting ASAP.

Are you a compassionate, professional and dedicated SEN Teacher with experience teaching in primary looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a SEN Teacher for a vibrant SEN school that caters for students aged 4-13 in South East London, specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

In this rewarding SEN Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive primary classroom environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your expertise as a SEN Teacher with experience in SEN will help develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy, and numeracy skills. In this job, you will be able to focus on and develop one subject for students primarily in KS2.

The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining an outstanding SEN school in South East London for children with severe learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are adapted into three streams of curriculum.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement personalised educational programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists
  • Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the SEN teacher in the classroom
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school
  • Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
SEN Teacher Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of ASD/SLD
  • Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
