An excellent primary school in Chiswick is looking to appoint a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to work within its ASD specialist unit. The unit supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder who benefit from a highly structured, supportive learning environment alongside mainstream inclusion where appropriate.
The Role:
- Providing targeted support to pupils with ASD in a specialist unit setting
- Delivering 1:1 and small group support across the primary age range
- Supporting communication, social development and emotional regulation
- Using autism-specific strategies such as visual supports, sensory breaks and structured routines
- Working closely with teachers, SENCO and external professionals
- Promoting independence, confidence and engagement in learning
