Must be able to swim, and get in the water with pupils Barking, East London Starting ASAP Reeson Education are actively looking to recruit a Assistant Swimming Instructor for a large SEN client school based in Barking. They work with a broad range of SEN(D) needs from Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

School details:

  • Approx 8-10 students per session

Role details:

  • Support students with special needs in and around the Swimming Pool
  • Manage behaviours using positive strategies
  • Supervise students getting in and out of pool and in changing areas
  • Set up and tidy away swimming floats/resources
  • Support the Swimming teacher in delivering sessions
  • Encourage pupils to get in and out of Pool between sessions to ensure timetable runs on time
  • Working as a team to ensure every child progresses and enjoys their swimming!!

The pool is warm. The kids absolutely love their swimming so this is a job for someone positive and fun-loving! No previous SEN experience needed, some experience as a TA or a Sports Coach would be great!
