Reeson Education is working with a primary school in Tottenham, North London, seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start from mid-November 2026.
This is an ideal opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has strong classroom experience and is confident covering classes across the full primary age range, from EYFS through to Year 6.
The Role - Higher Level Teaching Assistant
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing class cover across the school, ensuring pupils receive consistent and engaging learning in the absence of their usual teacher.
The Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be expected to:
- Cover classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
- Deliver lessons using plans and resources provided by the class teacher
- Take full responsibility for the classroom when covering
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and pupil engagement
- Adapt quickly to different year groups and classroom environments
- Work effectively alongside Teaching Assistants and other school staff
- Support pupils with a range of abilities and additional needs
- Maintain a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment
What the School Is Looking For
The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:
- Previous experience covering classes in a UK primary school - essential
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Confidence covering classes independently
- Experience across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
- A confident and authoritative classroom presence
- The ability to quickly build positive relationships with pupils
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one through Reeson Education
