A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Art, DT & Food Technician to join a high-achieving secondary academy in Hackney.
This role would suit somebody who enjoys working in a busy school environment, supporting practical lessons and ensuring Art, Design Technology and Food Technology departments are fully prepared for learning every day.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The successful Art, DT & Food Technician will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students across the Art, DT and Food Technology departments. Duties include:
- Preparing classrooms, workshops and kitchens for practical lessons
- Setting up equipment, tools and teaching resources
- Maintaining stock levels and ordering materials when required
- Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons
- Cleaning, maintaining and organising equipment and workspaces
- Ensuring workshops and kitchens meet health and safety standards
- Managing specialist tools, machinery and food preparation resources
- Assisting with displays and exhibitions of students' work
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Experience working as an Art, DT & Food Technician or in a similar school-based role
- Ideally, experience working within a secondary school
- The ability to work effectively alongside teachers and students
- Good organisational and communication skills
- A reliable, proactive and practical approach
- The ability to commit to a full-time role from 2nd September
- The ability to travel to Hackney on a daily basis
