SEN Teaching Assistant – Early Years & KS1 SEND Hub – Haringey A fantastic Primary School in Haringey is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support within their SEND Hub, catering for children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2. This is a full-time, long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role working predominantly with Year 2 pupils who have complex needs and follow a bespoke EYFS-style timetable. The SEN Teaching Assistant will help deliver a tailored curriculum focused on communication, sensory play, and life skills. Pupils in the Hub are pre-verbal, have Autism, and work at pre-Key Stage levels. You will support activities including sensory circuits, attention autism, speech and language therapy, and structured play-based learning. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Support Year 2 pupils with Autism and complex SEN in a nurturing hub environment. Implement visual supports, sensory tools, and communication strategies. Provide intimate care and manage risk-assessed daily routines confidently. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff. Promote engagement, confidence, and emotional well-being in all activities. Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant candidate: Has previous experience supporting children with Autism and complex needs. Comfortable working at pre-Key Stage level and using an EYFS approach. Patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting SEN learners. Confident working within a multidisciplinary team.
