SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support & General Classroom Support – Full-Time – Immediate Start

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child\’s education? Do you have a passion for providing 1:1 support to children with special educational needs and supporting the wider classroom environment?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team. You will provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs, while also assisting with general classroom duties to help create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Job Details:

  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support & General Classroom Support

  • Start Date: Immediate

  • Contract Type: Full-Time

  • Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide focused 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN, helping them access the curriculum and develop key skills

  • Assist the class teacher with general classroom activities and behaviour management

  • Support the child\’s social, emotional, and academic development

  • Help adapt resources and activities to meet individual needs

  • Promote independence and confidence in the child supported

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff

Experience & Skills Required:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly providing 1:1 support

  • Understanding of SEN needs and strategies to support learners

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance

  • A DBS check on the Update Service or willingness to apply
