We are seeking a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Hackney specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). The School:
The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining a small but outstanding SEN school in Hackney for children with ASD and SLD needs. This is an OfSTED rated outstanding special school for pupils aged 2-11 years, who have severe and complex learning differences. Based in a purpose-built new building in the heart of the inner London Borough of Hackney, the school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupils' specific needs.
SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as necessary.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school.
SEN Teacher Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of ASD and SLD.
- Experience working in a primary education setting is preferred.
