We are working with a welcoming primary school in Brent seeking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Teacher from September 2026. This role involves teaching a high needs year 3 class for 2 days of the week, providing targeted interventions and personalised support to meet individual learning needs and assisting the SENCo on the remaining days.
Responsibilities of this Special Educational Needs Teacher role:
- Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching to small groups of pupils with Special Educational Needs, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Support School SENCo.
- Stay up to date with the latest SEN research, legislation, and best practice through training, workshops, and professional reading, implementing strategies across the school.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture, modelling excellent practice and supporting colleagues with SEN provision.
- Monitor pupil progress closely, using assessment data to identify needs, track progress, and plan personalised interventions that close learning gaps.
- Collaborate with class teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure individual pupils receive consistent and effective support.
The Ideal Candidate for this Special Educational Needs Teacher role will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching or supporting pupils with SEN across the primary phase (EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2).
- Be committed to delivering engaging, inclusive, and well-structured lessons for small, mixed-age groups.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Be a reflective, proactive team player with a positive attitude towards continuous improvement.
