Reeson Education are supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Lambeth, South London who require an enthusiastic Spanish speaking Teaching Assistant (EAL) to join their team from September 2025 on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be a fluent Spanish speaker with prior secondary school Teaching Assistant experience, or a graduate looking to pursue a career as a qualified teacher in the future. The role of the EAL Teaching Assistant is to support students with moderate learning difficulties and encourage learning across a variety of subjects and year groups. You should be able to demonstrate successful experience in supporting students with EAL.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a fluent Spanish speaker
  • Supervise and provide particular support for students identified with EAL ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs
  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with students' learning
  • Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support students to achieve learning goals
  • Assist with the planning of learning activities
