Attendance Officer – Sheffield
Are you a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer who is passionate about improving student attendance, engagement, and educational outcomes?
Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated Attendance Officer to work in a supportive and inclusive school environment in Sheffield (S2) starting from September 2026.
About the Role
As an Attendance Officer, you will monitor attendance, support students and families to overcome barriers to regular school attendance, and ensure attendance procedures are implemented effectively in line with school policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily attendance and punctuality, ensuring accurate records are maintained using the school's management information system.
- Identify attendance concerns early and implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers, providing guidance and support to promote regular school attendance.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, prepare reports, and communicate attendance data to senior leaders and relevant staff.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams, safeguarding staff, local authorities, and external agencies to support students with attendance‑related concerns.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Attendance Officer, Administrator, Pastoral Officer, or in a similar school‑based role.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Enhanced DBS on the updated service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Strong safeguarding awareness.
