SEND Tutor – West London
Location: West London
Hours: 1 hour per week (part-time), term-time only on Wednesdays
Pay: £30 per hour
We are looking for an experienced and supportive SEND tutor to work with a young person who requires additional learning and emotional support. This is a rewarding role as an SEND tutor that involves helping to create a positive and responsive learning environment across both home and school settings in the West London area. Some planning (alongside school staff) and regular feedback to parents and wider professionals will be part of the role.
SEND Tutor Role:

Provide sessions either in school or at home, depending on the student’s needs

Deliver and adapt curriculum content in partnership with teaching staff

Build trust and emotional safety by working at the student’s pace

Use positive, student-centred approaches to support engagement

Support independence while offering guidance when needed

Identify potential sensory or emotional challenges and respond appropriately

Encourage communication, provide processing time, and offer flexible choices

Help promote emotional regulation through a calm, consistent approach

Accompany the student to familiar and supportive environments when needed
Essential Qualities:
- Level 7 dyslexia and dyscalculia qualification from a recognised provider
- Knowledge of foundation stage English and Maths
- Experience supporting autistic children or young people with additional needs
- Experience with SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) needs is beneficial but not essential
- Flexibility in how support is delivered
