Reeson Education is working with welcoming primary schools in Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This role is perfect for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs across the local area including Cheshunt and surrounding communities.
The Role
- As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties.
- This position involves supporting children on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEN across EYFS to KS2
- Delivering tailored interventions and strategies for children with EHCP plans
- Working collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO
- Building positive relationships with pupils and promoting their social and emotional development
- Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
What We Are Looking For
- Experience working with children with SEN in a school or educational setting
- A patient, nurturing approach with strong behaviour management skills
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or Speech & Language needs
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
- Desirable: Training in PECS, Makaton, or sensory strategies
