Reeson Education are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to work in a vibrant and supportive Primary based in the Portsmouth area. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is motivated, resilient, and passionate about supporting children with a wide range of needs.
The successful Teaching Assistant will ideally be Team Teach trained (within the last 2 years) and confident supporting pupils who present with additional challenges such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, behavioural needs, SLD, and trauma-related difficulties. However, for the right candidate, we are able to offer high-quality Team Teach training, providing an excellent opportunity to gain this valuable qualification.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing structure, encouragement, and tailored support to help pupils progress both socially and academically.
Teaching Assistant Role Information- Full-time, long-term role with the opportunity to become permanent
- Start Date: ASAP
- Team Teach training preferred - training can be provided
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs
- Use Team Teach strategies (or willingness to learn) to help regulate behaviour and maintain a safe learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement personalised strategies
- Support children in regulating behaviour, building confidence, and engaging in learning
- Encourage positive social and emotional development
- Adapt to a fast-paced and varied environment while maintaining a calm, consistent approach
- Team Teach trained (preferred) or willingness to complete training provided by us
- Previous experience working with children with additional needs is highly desirable
- Strong behaviour management skills with a nurturing and patient approach
- Ability to adapt quickly, use initiative, and remain resilient under pressure
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- A genuine passion for supporting children to reach their potential
