We are currently recruiting a Pastoral Support Officer for a temporary position based in Basildon, supporting students with behaviour, attendance, safeguarding and wellbeing in a centre setting. This role is hands-on and fast-paced, working closely with the Centre Manager, tutors and senior staff to maintain a safe, calm and positive learning environment. The successful candidate will be on duty throughout the school day, supporting students in classrooms and communal areas.
Responsibilities
- Supporting behaviour management and student engagement
- Supervising common areas and responding to incidents
- Recording attendance, behaviour and safeguarding concerns
- Providing immediate support to teaching staff when required
- Ensuring student safety across the site in Basildon
Who we are looking for
- Has experience working with challenging behaviour
- Is physically fit and comfortable in an active role (training provided)
- Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team
- Is organised, calm under pressure, and adaptable
