This role is ideal for a resilient and creative teacher who can deliver high-quality English lessons while maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment.

About the English Teacher Role:

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will play a key role in developing students' literacy skills, communication abilities, and confidence in English Language and Literature.

Key Responsibilities as English Teacher:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Literacy Development: Support students in developing reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement positive behaviour management strategies to maintain an effective learning environment.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess and track student progress, adapting teaching methods where necessary.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and senior leaders to support student achievement and development.

To succeed as an English Teacher, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Reeson Education.
